A Blue Hydrangea
A Blue Hydrangea takes place in the backyard of The Great Gardener Carole, as a hydrangea bush wakes up from its winter slumber. What has always been a fully pink hydrangea bush suddenly has a head of flowers that is blue. The flowers explore the concepts of identity, acceptance and vulnerability as they wait in fear of Carole’s judgement.

Biographies
Eric Braman
Eric Braman [they, them] (Playwright) is a playwright, poet and storyteller based in Springfield, Oregon. They were raised in the Midwest where a tenacity for niceties and a deep connection to nature was discovered. Since coming out as Queer their art has shifted to incorporate explorations of masculinities, mental health and Queer possibility. Their work has been published by Moon Tide Press, High Shelf, Qu Literary Magazine, and The Coachella Review. Eric's plays have been professionally produced at Oregon Contemporary Theatre, Ghostlight Theatre Ensemble, the University of Oregon and more. www.ericbraman.com.
Kaeli Meno
Kaeli Meno [she, they] (Director) is very excited to be working with Ghostlight Ensemble Theatre for the first time on the Make/Believe! festival. A recent Chicago transplant, their previous directing credits include That Long Damn Dark by Ashley Rose Wellman (University of Alaska), and The Drowning Girls by Beth Graham (University of Alaska). She had also been involved with the staged readings with the Valdez Theatre Conference and the Earth Matters on Stage Festival. They graduated with a dual degree in History and Theatre from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Gwyneth Clare
Gwyneth Clare [she/her] (Pink) is thrilled to be making her Ghostlight Ensemble debut! Gwyneth graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting and a minor in new works for the stage from Ball State University in 2020. Some of her favorite roles during her education include Dinah in Revolt. She said. Revolt Again (dir. Kelsey Price), Dorothea in Hath Taken Away (dir. Sarah King) and Bernie in the premiere production of Borrowed Babies (dir. Karen Kessler). Film credits include Tiger in What Tiger Wishes (dir. Chris Anderson) for which she received a Best Actress nomination at the Oniros Film Awards in 2020. Now that she is in Chicago, Gwyneth is so excited to be acting again following a brief hiatus in which she enjoyed tennis lessons, stand-up comedy classes, and lots of video games. Gwyneth thanks her friends and family for the support, and she hopes you all enjoy Make/Believe!
Lexy Hope Weixel
Lexy Hope Weixel [they, them] (Blue) is honored to be working with Ghostlight for the first time. Favorite recent Chicago credits include: I Build Giants (The Plagiarists), Twelfth Night (Midsommer Flight), The Giver (Greatworks Theatre) and The Miscellany (The Passage Theatre). Lexy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in arts administration - theatre from Butler University. They also studied at the Moscow Art Theatre School. Lexy wants to thank everyone they've been able to connect with since moving to this awesome city 3 years ago. They're excited to keep making cool, weird, queer theatre.
