Improvised Jane Austen

Inspired by audience suggestion, the all female and non-binary cast of Improvised Jane Austen will conjure a tale on the spot in the style of the beloved 19th-century British novelist. Lovers will woo, mothers will weep and fathers will ignore — all whilst enjoying tea by the imaginary fireplace. It will be sure to warm your cold wintery heart and soul!

IJA leaves the audience laughing and thinking about the status that women (and men) hold in society—both then and now. Their shows comment slyly on modern issues in what seems to be a form that celebrates the past, but actually is fighting for the future.

Ghostlight Ensemble Member Holly Robison is a member of Improvised Jane Austen.
